The 43rd Longmynd Hike will take place over the weekend of 2nd & 3rd October 2010, the cost of entry will be £20 per person. Anyone aged 18 or older on 2nd October 2010 is eligible to enter. Black Rhadley The landowner has reported runners using Pell Rhadley wood while training for the Longmynd Hike, THIS IS PRIVATE LAND and access is only permitted once a year on hike weekend. Please do not abuse the land owners good will or jeopardise the hike's access to the wood for the actual running of the event. People who got on the list early have been offered places, there may still be places available for the next few people on the list. The list reached 350 so has been closed as of now. 27/08/10 Teams The facility to enter teams is now online, see the menu item on the left. 26/08/10 Sports Nutrition Study A team of researchers from Liverpool John Moores University is continuing a series of studies looking into the nutritional requirements of recreational athletes participating in hill-walking/running events. WHEN TRAINING FOR THE HIKE, STICK TO THE ROAD IN THIS AREA. 12:30 09/08/2010 Allocation of Hike Numbers (2) We're sorry, our best-laid plans to get the hike laptop from the Webmaster in Cambridgeshire to the Entries Secretary in Shropshire failed miserably and we were unable to start issuing hike numbers as we had previously hoped. The problems have now been overcome and we will issue hike numbers on Wednesday 11th August, with places starting to be offered to people on the reserve list from the following morning. If you have registered and paid for your registration you are assured of a place on the 2010 event. 07:40 22/07/2010 Allocation of Hike Numbers (1) The allocation of hike numbers for people who have registered and paid will happen during the first week in August, as will the allocation of the remaining places to people on the reserve list. 09:00 10/07/2010 Online entry for the 2010 hike has been suspended as the hike is nearly full We have started a reserve list. To get on the reserve list you MUST click on the link below to send an email to the special reserve list email address. Each person who wants to get on the reserve list must send their own email (i.e. dont send a bunch of addresses in the message body, only the sending email address will be accepted.)
